A Congregational meeting of the members of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church was held at 11:00 am on August 26, 2012, as previously noticed, for the purposes of electing new Elders and Deacons for 2013 and of electing an Associate Pastor Nominating Committee.
A quorum was declared and the meeting was opened with a prayer by Dr. Ben Sloan, who served as moderator. Elder Judy Jarrett Brown, Chair of the Nomination Committee, was recognized. She recognized the other members of the Nomination Committee and then presented the Committee’s recommended nominees, with those in attendance asked to stand, as follows:
Elders:

Trip Chavis
Lauren Evans
Susan Powell
Jane Jermac (1-year term)
Shelby Harrell (1-year term for Youth Elder)

The floor was opened for nominations. A motion was made, seconded and passed to close the nominations and accept the Committee’s recommended nominees by acclamation. It was so ordered.
Elder Danny Hood, Co-Chair of the Personnel Committee, was recognized. He explained the need and recommendation of the Session to form an Associate Pastor Nominating Committee and then presented the Administrative Committee’s recommended nominees as follows:
Lovic Brooks (Elder)
Peggy Burgin (Elder)
Ann McCrary (Deacon)
Carolyn Owens (PW)
Robbie Johnson (PM)
The floor was opened for nominations. A motion was made, seconded and passed to close the nominations and accept the Committee’s recommended nominees by acclamation. It was so ordered.
Dr. Ben Sloan closed the meeting with a prayer and a benediction.
