LENT AT LMPC
LENT AT LMPC-
Lent in the Presbyterian Church is a time to sharpen our focus on God and to seek to grow in our faith.
John Calvin, the theological founder of the Presbyterian Church, said the Christian life consists of dying to self and living to God (mortification and vivification). There are several opportunities that we have at LMPC during the forty days before Holy Week.
ASH WEDNESDAY- 3/1- 7:00 PM Worship. This is a time in which we humble ourselves before God. There will be the imposition of ashes(putting of the cross in ashes on our forehead), as a reminder that this life is not all there is.
Each day during Lent- a written devotional will be posted on our web site, written by Dr. Sloan. This is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and the devotion picks up as a primer on the roots of our faith.
