Chapin Area

We work with GOoDWorks.? GOoDWorks was organized by a member of our church, but it is for all the churches in the Chapin area. ?GOoDWorks helps those in need in our community with housing, utility bills, counseling and in many other ways.? Each year our church has a GOoDWorks Blitz in which we repair, rennovate, build handicap ramps, and encourage.?.. GOoDWorks has won two awards by the state of SC for the highest percentage of its gifts going into ministry.

WE CARE – is our local food pantry that LMPC supports through donation of food and giving financially.? The local churches started We Care which is open Monday and Wednesday 9:00- 12:00. ?We gave 9000 pounds of food in 2013.

CHRISTGATE – is a local women?s shelter. ?Christgate was founded by four African-American churches. ?This is a small shelter for displaced women and their children,

THE HUB- is a communtiy center. At one time, the building was a bar.? Area churches bought the HUB, turning it into a community center. Afterschool tutoring as well as scouts and special events.? Melinda Rogers, of LMPC, ?has helped direct a summer program on Wednesdays. ? on those Wednedays, a meal is brought to the children ?and participate in ?Bible School activities.

JUSTIN PEPPER FOUNDATION – Justin Pepper was an 11 year old member of LMPC who died in a car crash.? The Foundation hosts a toy drive on Justin’s birthday, the first Saturday in December.
