OFFICERS NEWS
The officer retreat this year was at Presbyterian
College.
The session approved a budget of $820,600. They
also allowed for a special offering to be taken for
urgent property needs (which was met).
The session voted to have a second service on Palm
Sunday and the fourth Sunday of advent.
In February the session voted to call Perry Tuttle to be
the speaker at our spiritual enrichment services
4/11,12.
The session met 7/11/10 with two representatives of
the presbytery's Committee on Ministry for their
triennial visit. We shared many positive things
about what God was doing in our midst.
After meeting with COM, the regular session meeting
took place.
The Finance Committee discussed that we are behind
about 10% of our budget (income vs. expenses).
The session voted to allow the Nominating Committee to
establish an elder emeritus this year and to also
establish a new youth elder 1 year slot. The
session affirmed worship committee's request that we be
allowed to purchase tartan flags at roughly $200 each.
Property noted that we had to do some major air
conditioning work- replacing a whole unite; we need to
replace some rotting windows in the gym; we may need to
replace our septic tank; We also need to do some paving
work.
Mark Tidsworth resigned his status as elder-elect as
he has taken a position as interim minister at Kathwood
Baptist for a year. Also Joyce Snyder has resigned
as a deacon-elect.
