OFFICERS NEWS

Next stated meeting is 10.12 at 7:00 p.m.
There will be officer training meetings on 10/19 and 11/16
Ordination and Installation will be 1/4/09 in worship
Officer Retreat will be 1/10/09.

The following have been elected for elders or deacons:
Elders:
Ben Breland, Manita Craft, John Derham, John Ferguson, Alan Grimsley, Eric Rogers, Dave Saldivar, Phil Trefsgar;
Deacons (3 year term):
Renee Boling, Cynthia Morrow, Clare McGill, Mike Murrell, Kari Pepper, Ellen Williams.  Deacons (1 year term): Susan Adams, Jean Atkins.

Below is a little bit about each officer-elect:
Elders:
Ben Breland-
has taught middle school Sunday School, has ushered.  Ben is married to Gina and they have two children: Sarah and Jake.       He is in the air conditioning business.

 Manita Craft- has taught confirmation class, a women’s Bible study, and has served as a deacon.  Manita is married to Charles and they have two adult children- Lawrence and Acie (William and Mary).

 John Derham- has served as an elder and is on our finance committee and is co-chair of our fall adult retreat. John is married to Sharon.  John is retired from AT&T.

 John Ferguson- is currently serving as an elder.  John helps with the Jesus Seeker SS Class, and is our scoutmaster.  John is married to Debbie and they have two grown children.  John is a physician.

 Alan Grimsley- has served as an elder and is on our finance committee.  Alan is married to Janina and they have two grown children.  Alan is an accountant.

 Eric Rogers- has served as chairman of the board of deacons.  He is married to Melinda and they have two children Alex (Wofford), and Larkin (a junior at CHS). Eric is an accountant.

 Dave Saldivar- has served as a deacon, and on the nominating committee, and plays the handbells in our choir.  Dave is married to Rita, and they have a daughter, Raina.

 Phil Trefsgar- has served as an elder before and has taught the Quest SS class.  Phil is married to Eunice and they have grown children.            Phil works for the Dept. of Agriculture.

 Deacons:
Renee Boling-
has served as a deacon before, is involved with Helping Hands, and the Parents for Jesus SS Class.   She is married to Kenny and they have two children: Taylor and Tyler. She is a teacher’s assistant.

 Cynthia Morrow- has been active in the PW, Merry Presbyterians, and fellowship committee.  Cynthia is married to Bill and they have two grown children and a growing group of grandchildren.  Cynthia is a retired teacher.

 Clare McGill- has been chairman of our deacons, and has worked with our fellowship committee.  Clare is married to Hack and they have two children: Henry and Kyle.

 Mike Murrell- serves on our ABC (Always Beautifying the Church) committee and our property committee.  Mike is married to Kay and is retired.

 Kari Pepper- sings in our choir and play handbells.  She has been an advisor to our youth, and is co-chair of the Justin Pepper Foundation.

Ellen Williams- has worked in our preschool and is on the Preschool Board as well as the CE Committee.  She is married to Will and has two children Jacob and Lucas.

Susan Adams- has served in many different capacities in the church including Sunday School and Presbyterian Women's circles.  Susan works as a nurse for Providence Hospital, and is married to Stuart.

Jean Atkins- has served as a deacon before.  She also has been employed by Seven Oaks Presbyterian helping their youth and education program.  She is married to Tony and they have three grown boys; Collin, Clay, and Cameron.
