Who are we?

We are Christian…

with other Christians, we follow Jesus Christ as our example and trust in Him as our Savior.  With other Christians, we believe in the doctrines of the Apostles’ Creed.  We believe that those who believe in God have the hope of heaven.

We are Protestant …

we believe we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and we derive our authority from the Bible alone.

We are Presbyterian…

Presbyterian derives its name from the word “presbyter” or elder.  We are a people governed by elders as opposed to being run by the minister/bishop or the whole congregation.  Theologically, Presbyterians emphasize that God is in control, and that we should love God with our minds.  Presbyterians emphasize that we are to be stewards of the gifts God gives us.

We are Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)…

we are part of the largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States.  One of the things that distinguishes us from many other Presbyterian denominations is that we believe that leadership is open to women.   www.pcusa.org/101

We are in the Synod of the South Atlantic…

one of the largest synods (over 250,000 members) in our denomination consisting of Presbyterians in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. www.synodofsouthatlantic.org

We are in Trinity Presbytery…

approximately 14,000 Presbyterians in 12 counties.  www.trinity-presbytery.org.

We are in the Fellowship of Presbyterians…

This affiliation’s motto is to “Build flourishing churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ.” www.fellowship-pres.org/
